Desulphurization, Deoxidation

• Making a contact on a large surface between the melted steel and a slag.

• Composition of Synthetic Slag:

  • CaO: 45–50%

  • Al₂O₃: 40–42%

  • SiO₂: 5–8% (may be reduced 2–3% or decreased 8–10% as per requirement)

  • Others: 5–8% (Na₂O, MgO, CaF₂, NaF, FeO)

• Not only in the deoxidation but also solid Al₂O₃ inclusion comes into contact with CaO–Al₂O₃ liquid slag. The alumina inclusions are absorbed and form liquid calcium-aluminates which are richer in Al₂O₃.

Calcium Aluminate for Synthetic Slag used in steel making process specially for desulphurization, dephosphorization and non-metallic inclusion absorption without adversely affecting ladle refractory. USING METHOD OF OREWORLDTM CALCIUM ALUMINATE FOR SYNTHETIC SLAG

Calcium Aluminate for Synthetic Slag can be added into ladle bottom. The dosage of Calcium Aluminate for Synthetic Slag will depend on production on site. The reference dosage is 4–5 kg per ton of steel.

MELTING POINT: 1300–1350°C

CONCLUSION

• Synthetic Slag with a content of CaO between 51–56% will ensure a removal of about half of initial quality of S and O₂ from treated steel.

• Having positive economic effects by reducing the duration of furnace processing and decreasing the ferro alloy consumption.
